Joanne Smith B.Sc. (OT)

My name is Joanne Smith. I am a Certified Hand Therapist and Registered Occupational Therapist with over 30 years of professional experience. I offer personalized service in my custom-designed state-of-the art-clinic, conveniently located in the centre of the Greater Vancouver Metropolitan area. Apart from working in my private practice and other clinics, I frequently share my passion for splinting by teaching other professionals and students the art and science of creating custom splints.

I take whatever time is necessary to understand your condition. I then work with you to create and customize your splint to your particular needs at home, at work or for your recreational pursuits. My splints are supportive and comfortable, while at the same time being as aesthetically pleasing as possible.

Each of us is an individual, with specific demands that we place on our hands. For example, the splint required by a musician will be very different from that required by a carpenter.

None of my splints is identical. Every one is molded to your unique situation, and is created from materials carefully selected to provide you with comfort and durability.

A doctor’s referral is not essential, and most extended medical plans will cover substantial portions of the cost of my splints.
